Expectations for pupils during remote learning

  • If well, pupils should attend all streamed lessons
  • Pupils should complete all work set within the deadline given
  • Pupils are expected to continue following the Berkhamsted Student Code of Conduct. The Acceptable Use Policy is still live – sanctions will still apply for the misuse of technology during remote learning
  • When a digital lesson is being streamed pupils should work without any distraction, this includes no TV, no background music, non-relevant websites should not be opened, mobile phones and social media should not be used. Pupils should be aware that teachers will be able to see pupil screens during the lesson using the SENSO software
  • When entering a Digital Lesson, pupils should have their Microphone turned OFF and CAMERA turned ON. Teachers will ask pupils to switch on microphones as they require it.
  • Pupils must be appropriately dressed for streamed lessons
  • Pupils will check their emails at least twice a day
  • Whilst the school is closed pupils should follow their school timetable. The exception is Games and Clubs & Societies which are not taking place
  • As per usual pupils should make sure that they regularly restart and update their devices and make sure that devices are charged in preparation for lessons.
  • Pupils should regularly update Windows & Teams
