37. Finishing the outside of the Digipak
Aims:
- Finish the front and back of the Digipak
At the end of the last blog I showed this as the beginning of the Digipak:
Now, I have added more detail and specific parts to the product to bring it to life and show more character as well as promote the image of ‘OASIS’
To begin I added the name of the album and the title of the band to the middle of the front cover, This way it is clear and obvious to the audience what is being represented, in order to gain attention, attraction and recognition so that I can spread my target audiences. In order to create this front cover I firstly imported an image of the ‘OASIS’ logo and placed it in the middle making sure that I kept an equal distance from both sides. I then added the name of the album ‘THE MASTERPLAN’ and placed it centrally underneath the band name, so that it looked neater and more professional, that way it more appealing to customers who wish to buy the digipak.
I then added the list of all the songs on the album of ‘THE MASTERPLAN’ with the most important one being ‘Half the world away’ as is what the main project is based around. To add this part of the Digipak, I got typed out the first 8 songs one below the next and made sure that they were all lined up. I then typed out the next 6 from 9-14 and placed them above the other actor, this allowed me to use the spaces effectively making sure there were no blank areas as well as making sure that all typed information was correct and neatly placed.
Finally I had to add the final details, this included adding the Album title ‘THE MASTERPLAN’ in the middle part where originally it was a purple strip which has now been covered up. This gave it more of a professional look and feel and brought character to the rest of the work surrounding it, meaning I was able to fill any gaps.
Key Takeaway:
- I need to get peer feedback and speak to my teacher about specific adaptations which need to be considered in order to make this even better.
- I know I need to add a barcode and copyright permissions on the back of the cover. In the next blogs you will see the start of the inside of the digipak.
