36. Beginning the Digipak
Aims:
- Begin the early stages of the Digipak Production
- Make sure to include clear links between the band and brand image to make the whole project link together.
To begin we were given templates with instructions of each side of the Digipak in order to make sure that when we had inserted our images and pictures that it would all be aligned properly and would make more sense for the audience.
These templates ⬆️⬇️ gave us a better idea of structure and how we needed to layout our digipak in order to create the greatest amount of impact, this is so that we could reinforce our ideas and passions to our audience at the same time as being able to coincide it with the other production work, more specifically the Music video. Making sure that I stick to the theme of Oasis and the indie pop scene with reference to gigs and festivals as well as
To begin I started by working on the front and back of the Digipak, I first removed the background and just left the middle purple strip in order to get an understanding of my bearings and the area I had to work with for each shot, this meant that I was going to have to set up another photoshoot for the digipak in order to get some good photos as well as being able to showcase them on the social media as teasers to what is to come in the future for my audience. After I had created a clear background I had to research for some images which would be used.
I then had to find Photos which I wanted as I thought they would work well and look good as a way of representing the brand and band.
These were the first two images Which I had collated for the digipak. The image on the left was done in a photoshoot with my actors there are more Photos to come. The image on the right was taken of the internet and is a Birdseye map view of the town/area which we filmed the shoot. The idea behind this was to show location and change to reference the idea behind being ‘half the world away’. It also gives a bit of context and reference to the backstory of where this originates which I believe gives it more authenticity and realism.
Key Takeaway:
- Learning different skills and tools on how to produce a product to go with the other production work done as well as sticking to the values and ideas of the whole process, making sure the continuity it considered the whole time.
- This is only the start of the Digipak and there will be changes to come in the future, no matter what.
